Performance Coach - Collision

Position Description


Develops working relationships and rapport with collision members while setting up collision reengineering and Alumni programs. Conducts weekly coaching calls, assists in development of training materials by providing subject matter expertise and feedback on developed training materials. Consistently explores new collision repair, production and insurer information to provide updated feedback to collision members.


Essential Duties/Functions


The essential duties/functions of this position are:


  • Must have a demonstrated ability to discuss and explain collision repair shop office and production activities and their influence on the financials of the store
  • Must be able to construct office and production floor productivity models for use with owners and production managers to improve efficiency and profitability
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of Zoom and other multi-media presentation software for effective communication (will train)
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to explain, question and demonstrate tasks associated with negotiations and provide direction when members negotiate with insurers and vendors
  • Have a demonstrated ability to use multi-media presentation equipment, PC and other tools to provide workshop content
  • Ability to keep clients interested and engaged during and post coaching sessions
  • Must be able to articulate effectively all aspects of collision repair and collision related topics
  • Field questions on collision related topics from financial through technical repair and how they influence the stores profitability
  • Provide overview and discussion on collision KPIs
  • Must be able to discuss and explain management system usage including detailed conversations around the portal and the computations that drive the numbers
  • Must have a general working knowledge and experience with estimating software for discussion purposes. Additionally, be able to work through issues relative to the management systems
  • Must possess exceptional problem-solving skills

Knowledge and Skills


The following knowledge and skills are required for this position:


  • Exceptional knowledgeable of vehicle construction methods and required repair procedures
  • Skilled in collision repair store operations, production processing, scheduling, estimating and accounting systems (Quick books)
  • Skilled in communicating with clients (call scheduling, reviewing performance requirements, setting homework assignments and communicating performance results)
  • Skilled in using computerized estimating systems, management systems, estimate scrubbing tools, social media tools and marketing systems
  • Skilled in basic computer data-entry, Microsoft office, portal data and other internet-based applications
  • Skilled in presentation equipment, laptop, InFocus projector and sound equipment


Work Experience


Five to ten years prior work experience preferred

Management and operational skills a must

Demonstrated ability to use CCC1, Mitchell and Audatex, estimating and management system tools

Ability to function in a team environment
